Driving Mechanism of Differentiation in Urban Thermal Environment during Rapid Urbanization

To achieve sustainable urban development, it is essential to gain insight into the spatial and temporal differentiation characteristics driving mechanisms of thermal environment (UTE). As urbanization continues accelerate, human activity landscape configuration composition interact complicate UTE. However, differences in UTE-driven at different stages remain unclear. In this study, UTE Shenyang was measured quantitatively by using land surface temperature (LST). The were chronologically studied standard deviation ellipse (SDE) hotspot analysis (Getis–Ord Gi*). Then, relationship between activities, LST explored a hierarchical manner applying geographical detector. results show that deteriorate with rapid urbanization, significant characteristics. class-level more important than level when studying mechanisms. At class level, increased area abundance cropland can effectively reduce LST, while those impervious surfaces increase LST. mainly influenced activities. Due nonlinear most drivers shifts near-linear. later stage attention needs be paid effect interaction on indices for surfaces, water significantly interactions among normalized difference building index (NDBI) other selected factors are significant. findings study contribute development planning strategies optimize urbanization.
